Muslim Man Just Heard Good News of Jesus!
(Eastern Kenya, 2023)
Ministry is a part of Dan's life... it's not a side gig and not his day job, but literally a part of what he is woven to be. After all, the focus of his life is Jesus Christ, the Son of God and our Redeemer.
Jesus had what will forever be the most powerful ministry ever to be witnessed in this earth, and he still does to this day because he calls all of his people - Dan being one of them - to do as he did. Don't make the mistake of thinking that Dan's faith - the essence from which ministry flows out of him - can be separated from him or put aside for "after work" or for "Sunday gatherings". No!
Dan's faith is forever integral to who he is at all times, and ministry naturally flows from what he believes and who he believes in: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Because Dan believes in God, Dan believes in MIRACLES! Scroll down for some photographic evidence of miracles!
Dan is not perfect, and never has been perfect. He's a broken vessel that God picked up and said, "Hey! I want this one! I'll put him back together and he'll be as new!"
Dan didn't deserved to be called by God. HE REALLY DIDN'T DESERVE IT. If you were to hear of all the stupid, perverse, wicked things he has done in the past you'd most likely agree: Dan deserved death and not life.
But, God.
God decided. God called. Dan was simply the recipient of God's grace.
Even Dan's choice to heed God's call and surrender his life to Jesus is a miracle! It wasn't really Dan, it was God's Spirit that enabled Dan to even say, "Yes, God. I believe. Jesus Christ is my Lord, and I give myself fully to you in him."
To make Dan's testimony brief...
Dan grew up in a Christian family, raised in the "Presbyterian" (PC USA) church. He was extremely blessed to have God-fearing parents and grandparents. That was a tremendous gift. Yet Dan would tell you that he grew up knowing about God, but not really knowing God. He learned about Jesus, and he knows that Jesus has always been with him. Yet Dan wasn't living out relationship with Jesus. Dan didn't even know that he could hear Jesus until about 2012! Nobody had taught him about communing with God, listening to God's voice, and the importance of the Holy Spirit.
Okay, Dan was surrounded by loving family but you need to know that deep down he didn't like himself. He was a bit of a fat kid. His shame fed more eating, and it was a cycle of addiction. He felt constantly insecure - and particularly so after a traumatic classroom event in the first grade. All of this uneasiness about himself made his soul cry out for affirmation from others, and he took on a performance mentality to try to make himself feel better... using his intellect was at least one way he could prove himself "to others", but really it was about proving himself to himself.
Well, Dan slowly strayed from Jesus. He never renounced Jesus and continued to profess that Jesus is Lord and Savior, but the life he lived didn't witness that belief. In his teenage years Dan got interested in some new age/occult sort of stuff, communism/marxism, and all sorts of horrid things. Dan became addicted to pornography when he was in middle school. From that point on he began seeking perversion, and his beliefs about love and morality of course became perverted. He became addicted to alcohol in college... using it to numb his feelings of insecurity and to tell himself he was "something" for being able to lavishly drink. He was a bit of a womanizer until he got married. After he was married, he was riddled with shame - wanting to be a good man and a good husband but unable to be due to the incredibly powerful draw of lust that still plagued him.
Dan had no clue about spiritual matters at that time, other than to know they were real because he had had very spiritual experiences... even waking up from dreams having been battling demons. Yet NOBODY talked about that stuff in the church or around him... at least nobody who actually knew what was going on. Kids, being kids, of course would joke about ghosts. That didn't make it easier when Dan knew that he knew that he knew there were spiritual beings we do not see with our eyes. Nobody with true insight talked about it, and there probably were few of those people around outside occultists. That may be one reason Dan found the new age and occultist literature interesting... it talked of things he had already begun to sense.
Fast forward to 2010. After Dan had messed up his marriage so much that it ended, he was one broken dude. Finally, he cried out to God.
"God, make the the man I wanna be."
(For the discerning, yes, there was also a Chris Young song involved hahahhaha!)
God heard.
Dan would be glad to give you a whole book on what he believes, because he can talk about the love of his life - Jesus - all day. He'll spare you all that reading, though, and summarize his beliefs here. Reach out if you want to know more!
In essence, Dan believes that all of us are in need of salvation to become right in the sight of God. Not one of us is worthy to be considered righteous by God apart from him. All of us deserve death for the sins we have committed against God and man. (Sins against man are also sins against God, for they violate his will.)
We all deserved death for our sin. God solved that problem for us in his great mercy... offering himself as the solution. Here's how:
Jesus Christ is God himself who came to us as the eternal Son of God, sent by our eternal Father, born into this world by God the Spirit. Being both man and God, he did what it took to solve our problem of owing to God what we never could repay - repayment for our wrongdoing.
From the start the only solution to pay for guilty blood was innocent blood. The guilty by nature cannot repay with innocence. We needed an innocent blood sacrifice sufficient to appease our good Father in heaven - so good that he wanted to solve our dilemma without violating himself.
You see, God is also just. Ignoring our wrongdoing as if we had not done it without any payment for it would be unjust, and God is perfectly just so he cannot violate the justice he established. Wrongdoing demands justice. God needed to solve our problem yet not violate his own justice. From before the foundations of the world, he knew how he would do that.
Jesus is that justice... himself becoming death for us. He took our sin (wrongdoing) upon himself and it went into the grave with him. He became the curse for us. We had deserved being cursed because of our wrongdoings, but Jesus became the curse that was due us. When Jesus was crucified by us, he took our sin, our death, our curse into the grave with him... putting to death the death we were under.
Jesus did not remain dead. As he had said he would do, and as had been prophesied from long before, he rose from the grave on the third day and showed himself to many. Indeed there were numerous eyewitnesses of our resurrected Lord Jesus - numbering in the hundreds or more - and several of them wrote the Bible's New Testament scriptures we have today. Historian Flavius Josephus, in his book "Antiquities of the Jews" (18.3.3), writes:
He was [the] Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day.
These eyewitness accounts, however, are not the most significant evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. Dan would offer to you there are other testaments to the resurrection and later ascension (to heaven) of Jesus that even moreso prove his resurrection:
Those who reported that they saw him and even touched him after his resurrection maintained that testimony even at the cost of their lives - many enduring horrific deaths without ever renouncing their testimony. They believed what they died for.
Jesus's resurrection is crucial to the faith he established, as it proves the deity of Jesus. If his resurrection was not true then he would not be God, but if it was true then he is God. We see the evidence of the truth of his resurrection today: more than 2.3 billion people today profess to follow Jesus and many of them have chosen Jesus at significant cost to themselves. Of those people - Dan being one of them - there are at least hundreds of millions of followers of Jesus who will tell you they know him and are in relationship with him. It's impossible to know someone that is dead, though one might possibly know an impure spirit claiming to be a dead person but the fruit of that would show to be impure and you don't want that kind of bondage. When you consider the faith beliefs and practices that have caused the global body of Jesus followers to grow you see they're contrary to what this world teaches: purity, love, generosity, forgiveness, etc. What Jesus did is what Jesus taught us to do, and only in followers of Jesus do you find people whose broken lives have been radically restored and hearts turned from stone to flesh not by what they believe but by whom they believe upon.
Miracles. Dan will tell you that the miracles Jesus did are miracles that Jesus is still doing today. Dan has witnessed them, and he has been blessed to be a vessel of them. Jesus told the Pharisees that if they wouldn't believe his testimony in words to at least believe based on the miracles they saw him doing... yet for the hard hearted even those often are not sufficient because a heart set against belief will find every reason to defend disbelief.
Jesus is still alive, and he still appears to people today. Just do an internet search for testimonies of Jesus appearing and you'll find quite a lot. Consider recent events where he appeared to 200 or more Muslim men in Gaza in one night - during their dreams. Dan personally knows people who gave their lives to Jesus or got miraculously healed by Jesus after seeing him! Whether you like Jesus or not, you'll never be able to kill him or stamp out his message. He is God, and you'll find yourself fighting against God when you fight against him.
His message: die to live. One of the most radical aspects of the ministry and message of Jesus is that you must lose your life to find your life. You must die to yourself if you want to live. You must lay your life down on the altar of sacrifice... being willing to put aside your own beliefs, preferences, dreams, and even family to follow Jesus (to follow God). If you hold onto control, you won't find life there.
"Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life."
John 12:25, NIV
Control must be surrendered to God. It is only fitting that Jesus himself would embody that very message... that he would lay down his life in the world's greatest act of love "for the joy set before him" (Hebrews 12:2) - all in obedience to God the Father. What he did, he calls us to do also. A true follower of Jesus will embody that message and will not look like the rest of the world looks.
Dan believes the greatest witness to the deity and resurrection of Jesus Christ is what you continue to see today: Jesus continues to be exalted and people continue to lay their lives down for him not to forcefully propagate beliefs but to serve others in love and to love God even at the cost of their own life. In respose, God shows up in power and brings glory to his name - healing people, changing their lives, and setting them free.
Folks, salvation is simple and only one thing is required to be saved: believe upon and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only way to God the Father. By no other means can you know God the Father but by Jesus Christ our Lord. By no other name can you be saved.
Jesus does not ask you to believe in a doctrine. He asks you to believe upon a person - himself - Jesus Christ. He invites you to have a relationship with him, a relationship where your surrender to him is met by repayment with himself... you give up you, and you get HIM. Then you follow him, and you discover he's not only God, he's also the best friend and confidant and shepherd you'll ever have.
A surrendered life is what Jesus asks... surrendered not to a doctrine but to the only person who IS the Way, the Truth, and the Life - the person of Jesus Christ, Son of God.
Yes, you'll be asked to give some things up. You'll find out you didn't actually know everything, and you may have gotten lots of things wrong like Dan did. That's okay. Jesus will change you, if you'll but let him.
Should you desire to know more about specific doctrinal beliefs Dan holds, see the dedicated section at the bottom of this page. Know, however, that Dan's faith is not about doctrine but about relationship. His doctrinal beliefs flow from his relationship with Jesus Christ, and they always must be in agreement with the written word of scripture given in the Bible.
Dan's first and most important ministry calling is ministry unto the Lord. This can look many different ways, but all of it would be charactarized as a life of sacrifice to and dependence upon God in Jesus Christ... a life of worship. Prayer is part of it. Praise is part of it. Obedience is part of it. Time is required. Surrendering things that are not of God is required. Trust in God is central to it.
Living this life of worship to the Lord Jesus Christ - a life in loving, dependent relationship with him - is absolutely the most important ministry Dan has been given and he'll protect that ministry as one who is jealous for God.
Second to living for the Lord as ministry to the Lord, Dan has been called by the Lord to prayer.
Prayer takes many forms. If your idea of prayer is someone kneeling down with hands folded talking to God in reverence then you're right in that it is one form of prayer, but you are missing the bulk of what prayer is.
Prayer comes down to relationship with God... interaction with him. It can happen without words, though words are blessed. It can happen in the middle of a crowded train station, in a classroom, on a stage in front of thousands as one delivers a message, on the phone or video call, as one walks down the street... etc. Prayer can happen at any time. If that were not true, then there would be no way to fulfill Apostle Paul's guidance to "pray without ceasing." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
In terms of ministry to other people, the forms of prayer Dan is called to and most often ministers are:
Personal Intercession (praying on behalf of another - typically one-on-one whether in person or via video/audio)
Deliverance (bringing the good news of freedom in Jesus from heaven to earth)
Healing (releasing the good news of healing in Jesus from heaven to earth)
Corporate / National / Regional intercession (praying on behalf of groups of peoples or nations or regions for God's will)
Prophetic Intercession (listening to God and praying what God is saying or interceding as he leads)
Special assignments (sorry, but these kinds of things will not be described publicly but you can talk to Dan and he'll tell you about them)
Paid Intercession ("Paid intercession" may sound odd to you, but know that the payment is for the time involved and not for the prayer. Some people believe so strongly in the value of prayer that they desire to receive prophetic prayer on a regular, dependable basis from people they know love Jesus. To honor the intercessor's commitment of time and satisfy their desire for regularity, these people are willing to pay for the intercession on behalf of themselves, their families, their businesses, and their ministries... This is NOT a "pay to play" scheme where Dan will only pray if paid. Dan does a significant amount of intercession with no financial compensation, but like others he must provide for himself and he is willing to offer his time for compensation when God approves of it. Clients are people with the means to compensate for the time spent interceding on their behalf. You can best think of this as people with means funding ministry by giving back for what they receive.)
This list does not cover every possible way that Dan ministers in prayer, but this list does provide an accurate overview of his prayer ministry to others. Remember, Dan also has prayer before the Lord... praying before the Lord on the Lord's behalf just because he's in relationship with and loves the Lord.
Spreading the good news of the kingdom of heaven and access to it through repentence in Jesus Christ is another important ministry calling of Dan.
While others have called Dan an "evangelist", Dan does not consider himself a full-time evangelist. Yet evangelism is always a part of his life and walk. With any opportunity that God opens up, Dan will gladly share the good news of Jesus and his imminent kingdom.
(If you looked at the technology sections of this site, you'll realize that Dan is also good at serving as a "technology evangelist". That's because sharing goodness is a part of who Dan is. In the same way that Dan enjoys sharing how technology can be used for good, he enjoys in an even greater measure sharing how GOD IS GOOD!)
Love is a non-negotiable component of following Jesus Christ, and Dan has been learning to love better. If you knew him five or ten years again, he believes and hopes you'd say about him that he has become more loving than he was back then.
We're all being perfected in love - even those receiving salvation in Jesus Christ. What is important is to be willing to be molded, shaped, and refined even when it is uncomfortable. Most pure expressions of love usually are a bit uncomfortable, although they are immensely rewarding for our hearts. Dan is no different... he's not perfect in love, though he desires to be perfect in love and is being perfected in love.
It's impossible to list all the ways that love can look, so that won't be done here. Suffice it to say, that in a multitude of ways from interpersonal and relational to corporate, Dan is learning to live out the words of God through the Apostle Paul:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NIV
This love is not negotiable, for before we're told by Paul what love looks like, he makes this difficult statement:
"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing."
1 Corinthians 13:1-3, NIV
One method of showing love will be mentioned here because it may not be intuitive to the reader: Dan seeks to love in part by sharing truth in a time when much untruth is being promulgated. Let the discerning reader understand. One of those untruths is the various perversions of the meaning of love... perversions that are not consistent with the description of love given by Apostle Paul. At times this call is very uncomfortable, because one with such a call swims against the grain of society today.
(Did you notice that reference to the logo of The Chosen?!)
Does Jesus miraculously heal today just like he did when he walked this earth in the flesh nearly 2000 years ago?
Yes, he does!!!
This may surprise you, but it is true... God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and the good works Jesus did during his ministry in the earth he is still doing from the right hand of the Father today both sovereignly and through his people. Dan has witnessed this first hand. He's even in possession of video testimony of people who were miraculously healed. In fact, he's been healed himself - many times.
Modern medicine can be a gift to humanity, but it does not replace the reality of or need for God's healing. One of the greatest needs people in the earth have today is the need for physical healing. Many people cannot afford medicine or surgery even when those would bring them the healing they need. Many - billions of people, even - are truly hungry for someone that can heal them from suffering. Jesus is that One who can.
Dan would always prefer God's healing in preference to healing through medicine. Yet he seeks not only healing for himself, but he seeks to follow Jesus as a healer... walking in the ministry of Physical Healing. He wants to be a vessel of healing for others in fulfillment of the Jesus's command to carry on his Isaiah 61 ministry today. So, for more than five years Dan has been pressing into seeing the miraculous manifestation of healing for people in the name of Jesus. Today he sees it, and he sees it a lot. He's seen neuropathy pain disappear. He's seen hearing improved and restored. He's witnesssed sight healed. He has seen several people with frozen shoulders mirculously healed. Recently, a friend who had for more than two weeks suffered a "trigger finger" that would not release received her miraculous healing during the night after she sought the Lord on it. Dan has her testimony to prove it.
One of the most visibly obvious healings Dan has seen was really incredible... a woman who became a friend after her healing was miraculously healed of third degree burns on her hand by Jesus during prayer around 90 minutes to two hours of prayer with another mutual friend on the phone in early 2020. Photos show her miraculous healing. She had been facing imminent skin graft surgery scheduled just three days later, and you can imagine how she may have felt as an international student worker with little ability to pay for the surgery and unable to return yet to her home country. Her skin was visibly changed during the prayer on the phone after she removed her bandage wrap and looked at it. Two days later - in her pre-surgery appointment - the doctor cancelled her surgery because she no longer needed it. God is so, so good! He is still the God of Miracles today!
Part of Dan's ministry in physical healing is teaching others to become vessels of God's healing themselves. He particularly loves training the younger generations and encouraging them to step out in faith to heal.
As you'll read under "Media Ministry", Dan practices the ministry of physical healing online - currently primarily through a YouTube channel.

Nearly everyone needs help finding healing from soul wounds. Dan has needed plenty of this healing himself! He's been to counseling, and he does believe in counseling, but he also believes there are many things that a spiritual approach to inner healing will take care of much faster than traditional counseling methods.
While Dan really had not envisioned being used as a vessel of inner healing for others, as he began praying for people and simply showing compassion to people by listening and asking questions he found that he is used as a vessel of inner healing for people... sometimes powerfully so. As a result, ministering in inner healing is something Dan spends a lot of time doing. One of his greatest joys is being able to walk with younger people to see them freed and released into new life and freedom, but he works with people of all ages and even with married couples.
Dan is NOT a profesional counselor. In fact, if you just want someone to listen to you dump your feelings all the time he'll tell you to find a counselor - his gift is not one of being able to listen to people just dump their stuff without any real desire to get free of it. His gift is getting to the root of the problems and pulling them out while planting truth in their place.
Dan is a spiritual helper that ends up being able to - through prayer and the ministering of the Holy Spirit - help people become free and healed in their souls. Might the end results be similar to professional counseling and even years of professional counseling? Some might say so. That's for you to decide. If you talk to people Dan has had the gift of helping, many would probably tell you that they received freedom and healing far more quickly than they ever expected.
Dan is available to work with you on inner healing, and he will do so primarily on a compensated basis because it requires quite a lot of time. Reach out if this is your need.
Spiritual freedom (deliverance) is probably as large a need or a larger need, than physical healing in all societies. It's an immensely rewarding ministry, and also at times a heavy one.
What is Deliverance?
Deliverance is being set free of spiritual and/or physical oppression. We can easily understand deliverance in the context of an abucted child being rescued and returned home. Nearly everyone would agree that is a wonderful form of deliverance, and surely we need more of that! That isn't the sort of deliverance Dan has been called to at this time, although if presented with the opportunity to help a person in that way he would want to help. It is the realm of spiritual deliverance that Dan has been called to. This is when - like the abucted child - a person is afflicted or held in slavery (whether in part or in whole) by demons.
Did you say, 'demons'?
Yes. You don't see them (well, some people actually do see them), but they're real. Thankfully, angels are real as well. In fact, some if not all demons may actually be fallen angels... but by the grace of God those angels who faithfully serve God in Jesus Christ are far more powerful and numerous than the fallen ones. Demons, though, are dark spirits. They are agents of the satan who is the father of lies and the leader of the fallen angels. Like their father the satan, demons seek to steal, kill and destroy. They offer nothing good. They are our enemies.
And yes, they're real.
Dan first became aware of the reality of these dark spirits when during his teenage years - in a time when Dan was living in some sinful practices and even entertaining occult things - he first had experiences of actually fighting demons in dreams. These weren't your normal dreams... they were lived dreams. Were it not for waking up out of these dreams and finding himself in bed, experientially Dan would say it is difficult to distinguish this kind of dream from reality.
Today Dan knows that those battles were the result of the doors of sin that he had opened in his life. By the grace of God, today Dan now knows that those evil spirits do not have any right or authority over him because he is in Christ Jesus. In fact, Dan knows he has authority over them - because he is in Christ Jesus! At the time he was experiencing these dreams, though, he had no grid on which to put these spiritual experiences because nobody around him talked about them. The closest he found to people openly talking about such things were the occult/new age literature he had begun to be interested in. Thanks be to God, that is changing... more and more the people of Jesus Christ are becoming educated in these spiritual topics of warfare and are talking more openly about it.
Dan didn't really desire to go into deliverance ministry. He reluctantly did so being convicted that God was calling him to it. Now he knows what a joy it is to be a minister of freedom, even when at times it can be a very weighty ministry and demanding in terms of energy and emotion.
If you need spiritual freedom and don't know who to turn to, you can reach out to Dan. Like physical healing, Dan tries to make some time each week to help people at no cost. Yet if you're able to contribute to ministry - whether you need ministry yourself or not - Dan will certainly appreciate your contributions. He does need for people to step up and become benefactors of ministry. For now, Dan contributes what he can outside of working himself to fund the ministry God calls him to.
As you'll read under "Media Ministry", Dan practices the ministry of deliverance online - currently primarily through a YouTube channel. This is still an area he's experimenting in, because deep deliverance sometimes is quite individual but he is confident that all things are possible in God and is seeking to demonstrate that in this media ministry.
What is prophecy?
At its essence, prophecy is the revealing of Jesus Christ - often through God's divine revelation of what only he would know... such revelation that witnesses that God is real and Jesus Christ is Lord.
Prophecy, per se, is typically defined as foretelling or forthtelling. Foretelling speaks of events to come. Forthtelling speaks events to come... or said differently, forthtelling speaks things into being.
Today, there are many also gifts of revelation that are commonly referred to as types of prophecy though they may not strictly be prophecy by definition. These include gifts of words of knowledge, revelatory gifts of wisdom, revelatory gifts of encouragement, etc.
Words of knowledge are things that are true which the person speaking them would not have any means to know. For example, knowing a physical need you have or specific details of your childhood or something happening in your life right now such as a contract negotiation, etc... these would be considered words of knowledge.
Gifts of revelatory wisdom offer direction in revelatory ways. If you're trying to make a decision to go forward with something in your life or to give up the pursuit and someone knowing nothing about your need comes up to you and says, "I believe the Lord is wanting me to tell you to 'go forward'... there's something you've been deliberating and the Lord is saying to go forward with it"... that would be a revelatory gift of wisdom.
Gifts of revelatory encouragement are words that speak true but revealed things about you as encouragement, such as "I believe the Lord is showing me that you have an exceptionally compassionate heart; you stop often to talk to and help the homeless and needy; when you pass people who are suffering your heart joins in their suffering and you truly wish you could do something about their suffering; you also find yourself thinking a lot about how we as a society can more effectively help people that are really in need... and the Lord wants you to know that he gave you that compassionate heart and he has put ideas in you, and those ideas are invitations to conversation with him to find out how to actually bring them to pass in the earth"... such would be a revelatory encouragement.
Dan operates in the gift of prophecy, and he believes all of those who are reborn of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ can operate in the gift of prophecy. He has, at times, been used for both foretelling and for forthtelling. He operates in the gift of words of knowledge - particularly within the context of ministering healing and deliverance but not limited exclusively to those contexts. He has been used to deliver revelatory wisdom and revelatory encouragement.
Dan would not call himself a "Prophet" (with a capital 'P'), though like other "five-fold" giftings he believes such titles are for God to give through others and not for a person to take up on his own.
One thing Dan spends a lot of time doing in ministry - and something that falls under the mantle of a prophet but Dan hopes that all believers wil do - is to teach others how to hear the voice of God.
Hearing the voice of God is incredibly important to Dan, and by God's grace all of God's people will one day believe they can hear God's voice and learn to know his voice. Dan will do what he can, to the extent he is able, to help others enter into that relationship with Jesus where they are hearing themselves from him.
While Dan would not call himself a teacher by gifting, others have told him he is. Whatever the case may be, he delights in teaching people to think for themselves, to walk in greater intimacy with Jesus, and to follow his footsteps.
Dan also delights to teach truth, although at times it is not so enjoyable to do so. When teaching about scripture or things of the Lord Dan is passionate and thoroughly enjoys doing it. Yet that's not all he teaches. There are times when lies are being propagated in society - all with a spiritual nature but not all cloaked in spirituality - and in some cases Dan has felt called to use his reach to help debunk those lies. Dan's reach may not be huge, but it is his delight to stand up for truth even when he doesn't enjoy every moment of doing so. (Yes, you can delight in something you do not enjoy... the delight is in the outcome and the obedience to God, not in the act.) Sometimes this defense of truth is in the governmental sphere: think legislation being considered, etc. Sometimes this is in things that cross many domains: such as widespread attempts to bring tyranny or oppression and suppression of truth -- such as in a recent multi-year testing the world began going through in 2020. No more will be said about that here, but you are welcome to ask about it.
At times Dan also teaches people life skills - particularly in the realm of inner healing or technology or other spheres. It is Dan's joy to empower others, and to empower others teaching is sometimes required.
What is Dan's teaching style?
He would categorize it as somewhat informal and personal. He can go deep and get technical at times - including really digging into the meanings of Hebrew and Greek and such as they relate to the scriptures. When he does, he always attempts to make that journey within a context so that the learner hopefully stays engaged and sees the point of the study. This involves tieing things together for the listener - reinforcing the big picture and how each nugget of information fits into the bigger picture.
If you'd like to hear some of Dan's teachings he can provide you access to listen to some of them. He hasn't published too much publicly yet, but he has been capturing audio and sometimes video when teaching in different contexts and hopes to publish some if it in the future.
Humility is the essence of following Jesus.
There's no way around that truth. A close examination of the life and ministry of Jesus reveals that Jesus - though God himself - humbled himself for us and expects us to humble ourselves before God and for the sake of others.
Service is one way that Dan seeks to humble himself, and it helps him relate to what others are going through. Currently his primary vechicles of "planned" service are committing time to serve in healing rooms, offering one-on-one prayer for others both in-person and virtually, and participating in and leading prayer calls.
Being led by the Holy Spirit is really the desire of Dan's heart, as that is the way of Jesus and is living in intimacy with him. In being led by the Holy Spirit, Dan hopes to always be humble enough to follow the Lord's lead in helping people wherever he goes. That may look like simply smiling at someone to show them love, giving them encouragement, listening to them, offering to pray for them, praying for them from a distance, or giving them some kind of assistance, etc. He's learned that he cannot help everyone, so he has learned that humility does not mean letting others dictate his actions and help. That has helped him immensely, as his gift of compassion does cry out for people - even those he is not led to help directly.
Dan also sometimes gives his time to helping ministries capture and publish or stream speakers or events, thought at times he also does this for a fee due to the large amount of time and the expense of equipment involved.
During the adventure we all went through in 2020, Dan was led to begin offering ministry through media. He continues to do that today. That looks a myriad of ways, but the core mechanisms by which he uses media for ministry are to fulfill the ministry activities outlined above:
A YouTube channel dedicated to seeing people miraculously healed, set free of demonic oppression, and touched by God. This is in essence an evangelistic ministry (one aimed at spreading the good news of the kingdom of heaven and its King - Jesus).
Offering one-on-one virtual prayer consultations for those who need help - primarily those needing healing or deliverance. These are conducted through Zoom or Google Meet.
Recording messages and conducting live broadcasts to educate people to things going on in current events. To date these have been primarily focused on governmental issues and civic responsibility as they apply to Judeo-Christian ethics and morality.
Educating people through in-depth research recorded and delivered virtually. He's only done a few of these because of the immense amount of research involved to do them so far.
Telling good stories through visual story telling. Dan has only done one of these videos to date, but he has ideas for more and would like to be able to do more and significantly pour into this kind of ministry. (God-willing!)
Assisting a small number of organizations with their media needs on a volunteer or semi-volunteer basis.
Reach out to Dan if you have any questions about these forms of media ministry, or if you would like his help. He is willing to help people with their media efforts for a fee, or in very limited circumstances on a volunteer basis.
If you want to support Dan in media ministry there are a few ways to do it:
A) Pray for him and the ministry of the Lord!
B) Give financially. (See the Giving page on this site.)
By giving you can help support Dan to becoming more dedicated or even full-time in ministry. Without that support or other miraculous provision from God, Dan will work help fund the ministry but the work may not be related directly to the ministry. When you give to help pay for Dan's time he is able to focus more directly on the ministry rather than "working on it" outside of his efforts to subsist.
C) Donate equipment or software or software subscriptions or studio needs, or donate funds specified for those things.
Many don't realize how costly media ministry is. Producing great video or great audio requires great equipment - and that is expensive. To date, Dan has found ways to "get by" with small investments but he needs better equipment to take things to the next level. Equipment consists of things like high quality video cameras, production-worthy tripods, high quality audio equipment like microphones and interfaces, drones, stabilizers (gimbals), computing equipment, internet connectivity and related equipment, and even facility needs such as sound-dampened space to record in.
Software needed includes streaming platforms which can require subscriptions costing anywhere from $20/mo to more than $100/mo, video editing and production software like Davinci Resolve Studio ($300/license) and Adobe Creative Cloud ($60/mo) and vMix ($700-$1200 lifetime license or $50/mo), audio and video and photo licensing through sites such as Audiio and CCLI, audio software, plugins for audio and video, training courses, etc.
Studio costs such as lighting, noise dampening, decor, backdrop/greenscreen, space, etc.
To be clear, Dan does NOT have all these things today. He's invested some to get where he is, but he open to financial benefactors that desire to help him invest for the next level. In no case will he accept financial gifts with "terms", however, such as might seek to restrict what he can nor cannot say or present. He's looking for partners who believe in him and want to invest in him without putting puppet strings on him.
Many have come to Dan, or have been divinely connected with Dan, for wisdom and spiritual help. There are so many different ways this can look that Dan won't attempt to even outline a "normal" view of what this looks like. Just know that it can look like wisdom for business decisions, wisdom for making life decisions, wisdom for family needs, wisdom for one's spritual walk or for raising children to know the ways of Christ, etc.
In no way does Dan claim to be a wise man, or to have more wisdom than others. When he is used to help others with wisdom, it isn't him but it is God through him who is at work. God gets all the credit. That said, Dan has indeed been used by God in this capacity to help and bless others.
Little is more important than heeding Jesus's invitation to follow him. Do you disagree? Consider the words of our Lord:
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”
John 10:27-30, NIV
Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
John 12:23-26, NIV
According to John 10:27-30, if we want to be the sheep who belong to Jesus and we want him as our shepherd (see Ezk 34,36), then we must follow him. If we do not follow him, then it would seem to hold we are not his sheep.
Similarly, John 12:23-26 implies that we cannot serve Jesus without following him. If we don't follow him, then any service we do is not service to him. His promise to those who serve him (and thus follow him) is that they will be with him where he is and Father God will honor them. Paraphrased, if we follow Jesus we're basically attached to him. Where he goes, we go. Where he stays, we stay. Our motion is in lock step with his motion. Is this not being also led by the Holy Spirit?
Apostle Paul writes,
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
Romans 8:14, NIV
Dan certainly wants that promise. He aims to be led by the Spirit of God, following Jesus in every step. He's not perfect, but he's being perfected by the Spirit of God in the dominion of Jesus Christ himself.
As you can see, it appears to be impossible to be children of God and one with Christ without following him. Discipleship is the process of learning to follow in the footsteps of one's master.
Learning to follow Jesus is the essence of discipleship, and seeking to be a better follower of Jesus each day is Dan's heart. Consequently, he thoroughly enjoys helping others mature in their walk with Jesus.
Do you want someone to walk with you one-on-one?
Dan cannot promise that he'll have the time to give you, but his prayer is that the Lord will provide someone to walk with you. Dan already is walking with some people, and it's his joy to do so. He especially delights in walking with the younger generations to see them raised to maturity in Christ.
If you have the means to sow into this discipleship ministry you can do so either by contributing to Dan, or by asking him to walk with you on a fee basis for his time (which helps to provide for Dan so that he can devote more time to ministry and less time to "earning activities").
For clarity: Dan does not seek to charge for discipleship or prayer and such. He does seek to be able to devote more time to helping others follow Jesus. Dan recognizes that one method by which people can contribute to that mission is to themselves compensate Dan for the time he spends with them as a way to "pay it forward" - by using their financial means to enable others to be blessed. This allows more devotion of Dan's time to the activities of equipping the people of Jesus and spreading the good news of the kingdom of heaven and its King.
Here are some specific doctrinal beliefs that Dan holds. Again, Dan believes in the person of Jesus and not in doctrine, but these beliefs describe what he believes about the Lord Jesus he is in relationship with:
Salvation is simple: it is not earned or deserved, but is the grace of God. It does not come through works or actions no matter how good those may seem. It comes only through the person and deity of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Belief in him - a surrender of one's life to him in repentance - is the only way to salvation. He doesn't seek the perfect, he seeks the broken. He takes what is broken and makes it whole. Salvation is given purely by unmerited favor from God through Jesus Christ. You don't have to keep reading, and if you choose to know that what is expounded below is simply more detail but in no way minimizes the simple truth: salvation is ours by grace alone, in Jesus Christ, and is never a product of what we have done except for the choice to repent and believe upon Jesus.
There is an authoritative written revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ and God in his fullness, and that is represented in the protestant Bible. This same protestant Bible is shared in large part with Bibles from other groups of people who follow Jesus as well, though some of those groups hold certain books to be authoritative scripture that the protestants do not. In general, many of those books in question are still recognized by the protestants as inspired extra-biblical revelation, though they are not held as authoritative. For example, the Ethiopic Bible contains far more books thank the protestant Bible because it contains some of those extrabiblical narratives such as the book of Enoch - sources often called the "Apochrypha" in protestantism.
Jesus Christ lived on this earth in bodily form nearly 2000 years ago, perfectly God and perfectly man at the same time. He Emmanuel, "God with us".
Jesus is the eternal Son of God and the Son of Man, prophesied by Daniel and Isaiah and numerous other prophets in the Old Testament of the protestant Bible, and attested to by the greatest of the Old Testament prophets - John the Baptist - in his own generation. (See the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as writings in the Epistles such as Romans and Hebrews.)
Jesus was conceived of a virgin, Mary, lived a perfect life that was free of iniquity before God the Father. He never once rebelled against our heavenly Father, unlike us who need his salvation. Therefore, Jesus was perfect in the sight of God, becoming the only man (human) to ever be qualified to serve as the perfect sacrifice that can redeem the rest of humanity.
Jesus died on a Roman cross somewhere in the time of A.D. 29 - A.D. 33. Dan personally believes it was more likely A.D. 33. His death - which was prophesied from the beginning - became the payment for you and me who had sold ourselves into slavery to sin and its father at the start of humankind by our rebellion against God. Jesus therefore earned FOR US the right to be redeemed to our true Father - our heavenly Father - if we so choose that exchange.
Jesus was crucified by you and me... by Jew and Gentile alike. For, the Pharisees and Sadducees and teachers of the Law at the time had incited the Romans, who represent the Gentiles, to kill Jesus because the Romans were in authority over the land. Thus, both Jew and Gentile participated in putting Jesus on the cross where he died for us.
Jesus rose from the dead on the third day since his crucifixion and appeared to many. (See discussion above.)
Jesus ascended to heaven where today he sits at the right hand of God the Father, and he will judge all of heaven and earth one day. Every one of us will stand before him and answer for our lives.
Jesus will return in the same way he ascended... and that day is a day we who follow him long for, though we remain focused on being his witnesses and revealing his kingdom even as we await that glorious (and terrible for the wicked) day.
Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament Law (Mosaic Law) and Prophets. All of the Old Testament points to Jesus, and it can be considered "Jesus concealed" whereas the New Testament (Jesus's ministry and the writings of the early Apostles) can be considered "Jesus revealed".
Everlasting salvation is achieved very simply: heartfelt belief upon Jesus (repentance), with the commitment of your life to him and the acceptance that he will be Lord (authority) over your life.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
Acts 16:31, NIV
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12, NIV
Two baptisms have been given to us, and both should be sought by all followers of Jesus. Water baptism, and Spirit baptism. Both are crucial in the laying down of one's life for Jesus the Christ. Both are evidenced in the New Testament scriptures and spoken of right away by Peter in the most powerful witness of Jesus he had ever given after having just received the baptism of the Holy Spirit himself:
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
Acts 2:38-39, NIV
"Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit."
John 3:5, NIV
Water baptism is a real spiritual act with real spiritual benefits. God allows us (followers of Jesus) to facilitate this act on his behalf... thus it is done by a person to another person for Christ. It is a profession of surrender of one's life to Jesus Christ. When going into the water, one is going into the grave with Jesus Christ. When coming out of the water, one is coming out of the grave with Jesus Christ into new life. It is real. Dan will tell you that something happened in his own water baptism in 2016. Even though he didn't feel anything but joy, his life was changed permanently that night. Dan believes this is when we are "born again" from a salvation perspective. (John 3:3)
Spirit baptism is a baptism from above as evidenced in the book of Acts, Chapter 2. It cannot be forced or contrived. It happens when and if and how God chooses to do so, although it can and often does happen through the prayer or laying on of hands of another person. Holy Spirit baptism results in the impartation of power to be a witness for Jesus the Christ. (Acts 1:4-5) Dan believes this baptism is also crucial to a follower of Jesus having the power to actually walk out a victorious life free of the hindrances of sin that once so entangled him. Said differently, he believes that water baptism changes your nature, and Spirit baptism clothes you with the evidence of that new nature.
Although this next statement that is perhaps controversial and may stir some other believers up, Dan would tell you he believes the reason why we see so many followers of Jesus - and even leaders - still struggling against sins like sexual immorality and worldliness is that many if not all of them never truly received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Dan believes God, who knows the heart, baptizes those in the Holy Spirit who really want freedom from the ways of the world and want to die for Christ that they may live in him. It's with that surrendered heart that God works and moves in power to manifest one's redemption inwardly and outwardly. Thus, one of the biggest challenges the global body of professing believers may face today is unawareness or unacceptance of this crucial baptism - the baptism of the Holy Spirit - that Jesus himself promised to us. (Acts 1:5, Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16, John 15:26, and others)
Jesus attested to the divine Triune Godhead: one God, not many, who has revealed himself as distinctly God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. God is one being, in perfect union, who has revealed himself as three united persons (not three separate beings). This is what we call the doctrine of the "Trinity". All of this is attested to by Jesus and revealed in the written scripture. Yeah, it's kind of hard to grab hold of mentally... but who can comprehend God? Dan has actually been blessed to see an analogy that really does help to grasp this concept in a simple way that relates to us as humans. If you want to know more, reach out to Dan!
Many other points could be exposited here, but for now what is written above will suffice.
